"Ferns and Log"

Rain-soaked ferns rest on a decaying log along a portage between Fall Lake and Newton Lake in Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW).

While many people rush through portages, efficiently getting to the next lake on their adventure, we often take time to photograph several treasures along the way. It's a nice reward for the physical exertion of the portages.
