"Through the Fog"

The canoeist enjoys a foggy morning paddle in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). The silhouette of the canoeist effortlessly gliding along the river illustrates the peace and serenity we relish in the Boundary Waters. Soon the morning sun burned through the fog, as if raising the curtain to expose the incredible shoreline.

This photograph is from our Canoescapes Series. It was also a semi-finalist for the Wilderness Forever Exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
