"Gilded Superior Ice"

A thin sheet of ice over Lake Superior piles up on shore at daybreak. As far as my eyes could see, the massive sheet of ice was slowly gliding toward shore like a big conveyor belt. It stacked thousands of plate-glass-like shards of ice as it hit the rocky shoreline right in front of me. The plates of ice appeared to be gilded as they caught the rising sun. The sight and sound were incredible.
