"The Granite Guardian: A Shoreline Reflection"<br />
<br />
This unique granite shoreline reflection appears along the North Kawishiwi River in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). Rotate the image ninety degrees counter-clockwise to view the shoreline in its natural state, with the waterline through the center.<br />
 <br />
The Granite Guardian symbolizes the grounding energy and joyful spirit of the Boundary Waters wilderness. He evokes calm perseverance, mindfulness, and ancient wisdom. While he is ever present, contentedly watching over the pristine land and waters, few passersby have been aware of his presence. Timing is of the essence to catch a glimpse of the Granite Guardian, as he disappears into obscurity with the slightest change in water levels, lighting conditions, or gentle breeze.
