"The Big One"

The wild waves and freezing spray painted winter along Lake Superior's North Shore. Photographing in these conditions can be challenging. In addition to maintaining stability in the strong winds, spray from huge waves pelt me and my gear, freezing within seconds. Yet, I eagerly head to her shores to witness her power and fury. While the wave heights during this storm were 15+ feet, some of the exploding waves and spray may have topped 70 feet.
