"Sunset Paddle"

The canoeist enjoys a sunset paddle on a beautiful Fall evening in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW).

Award: This image has been juried into the Wilderness Forever Exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, 2014-2016. The exhibit celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act. This photograph was the winner in its class/division, "People in Wilderness", amateur. It was also published in a special golden edition of Nature's Best Photography magazine, along with the story Dawn provided. We're pleased that Minnesota's wilderness is part of the Wilderness 50 celebration.

There were more than 5500 entries, 300 semi-finalists (2 of which were Dawn's, this one and "Through the Fog"), and 50 images are on exhibit in large format at the Smithsonian -- one of which is Sunset Paddle from the Boundary Waters.
